Letter from Carlos Machado to General Gerardo Machado, December 14, 1937
Carlos Machado writes his brother in exile about his situation in Cuba and confesses the troubles that he is experiencing. He speaks of how it is virtually impossible for him to be active in business or any other endeavor due to his association with Gerardo Machado. He recounts the possibility of obtaining amnesty in a case against him including charges of gangsterism and kidnapping. In his letter, Carlos Machado also mentions Fulgencia Batista in reference to the Ramón Grau San Martín government
